Why you shouldn’t be act cool all the time
There is a tendency for some people who act cool to hide their weaknesses. You know, some people who never seen to have a problem. Because being ‘cool’ person sometime means to hide your feeling and being dishonest about your sorrow.
But the thing is, nothing goes right for anyone all the time. Sometimes the coolest person we know, probably the one who has a deep sad story. Maybe they just not being open about it to everyone.
And that is what I’d like to talk about. To being open, not only for the good stories that we have but also the bad one. Because being honest is a though job like seriously. You may know how hard it is once you try.
A friend of mine once asked “It seems like you never had any problem in your life, huh?”. Which then I responded with laugh in return.
There’s no such a person who gets through life totally unharmed. You’ve been hurt, cried, and so do everyone else. So in this post I list down some reasons why you should be okay to be vulnerable :
It indicate that you’re only a human
When you’re being open about your failure, your weaknesses, it means that you only a human. A human that sometimes fail, get hurt, or cry. Just like anybody else.
And being human, dear friend, is a way to connect with another human.
Vulnerability improve your relationship
Remember the person you share your hardest story of your life with? I reckon it supposed to be your best friend, family, or your significant others, right?
By showing your scars to other people, it means that you trust them. And developing trust is what we need to improve the quality of our relationship. Showing our genuine self is what connect us in a more intimate way.
It’s a practice to love your whole self
When you are afraid to show people your bad parts, maybe you are not fully accept your self neither. Whereas, accept our self for the good and the bad is what needed to love our whole self which will lead us to be a happier person.
Sure, to practice confessing our mistake, failure, or weakness is a hard work. But it can be so relieving to finally accept ourselves as a human being who is imperfect. And you know that everything worth doing is hard, right? (;
